Lawyers Feed the Hungry

On June 20, 2013, a twenty-member team of Soloway Wright assistants, students, associates and seasoned partners dusted off their serving skills to fight hunger in our Nation’s Capital.

The firm sponsored a meal at the Ottawa Mission for those less fortunate in our community and, in so doing, brought a few smiles to the faces of Ottawa’s most vulnerable.

The importance of the program was evident from the moment we arrived at the Mission.  A lineup full of enthusiastic attendees had already formed an hour before dinner service.  We reached capacity within minutes and the chairs received only ephemeral glimpses of daylight throughout the afternoon; for two short hours the chocolate milk flowed and the turkey flew.

When the dust had settled, we wiped the sweat from our brow, doffed our hairnets and yellow aprons and reveled in knowing that over 400 people would not go hungry that day.

The firm was touched by the numerous “thank you’s” received from the dinner guests and is proud to have been able to contribute to such a worthy cause.

The “Lawyers Feed the Hungry” programs provide meals to the hungry and financial support to charitable agencies that help with hunger relief.  The organization operates programs in Toronto, London, Ottawa and Windsor.  For more information visit
