Peter has a special interest in personal injury claims and in particular claims arising out of medical negligence. He has acted as lead counsel on behalf of patients in numerous cases including claims involving cerebral palsy due to hypoxia at birth, kernicterus due to untreated jaundice, partial paralysis following spinal surgery, late diagnosis of meningitis and a wide range of other claims arising out of medical errors.
Peter has extensive experience in claims for damages arising out of personal injury or death as a consequence of motor vehicle accidents.
Peter has been recognized by his peers for his expertise in the field of Personal Injury/Medical Negligence and is named in "Best Lawyers in Canada*", 2009 and 2010 in the area of Personal Injury and Medical Negligence. He was also recognized by Lexpert, in 2009 and 2010 in the areas of Personal Injury, Medical Negligence and Product Liability.
Peter has also acted in many claims arising out of environmental issues, construction issues and product liability. He acts for a major insurer defending a wide variety of commercial matters.
Peter is also experienced in assisting physicians in matters involving hospital privileges.
Peter is a Past President of the Medical-Legal Society of Ottawa-Carleton and a former Director of the Advocates Society. Peter has been inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has presented papers at continuing education functions for the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the County of Carleton Law Association.
