Ryan practices in the area of civil and commercial litigation, personal injury, and insurance defence. Ryan practices with the Litigation group in Ottawa.
Ryan received his LLB from the University of British Columbia in 2004 and his B.Sc. in Biology (honours) from the University of British Columbia in 1999.
Ryan received a number of awards while studying law at the University of British Columbia. These include the Panvini and Kashmir Singh Manhas Scholarships for academic achievement, the Borden Ladner Gervais prize in Conflict of Laws, the Jaqueline Dearman Memorial Prize in Family Law, the Bull Housser and Tupper Prize in Business Law, and the Borden Ladner Gervais Prize in International Business Law.
Prior to joining Soloway, Wright, Ryan practiced civil and commercial litigation with a national firm in Vancouver, B.C. Ryan was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2006, after clerking at the Supreme Court of British Columbia. Ryan appeared at, and assisted senior counsel before, all levels of Court in British Columbia. He also appeared at the Federal Court and the Federal Court of Appeal.
Ryan was called to the Ontario bar in 2010, when he joined Soloway, Wright.
Ryan is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
Ryan speaks both English and French.
