About Philip

Philip joined Soloway Wright in 2015 and began practicing municipal and planning law immediately after his call to the Bar in 2017.  As a member of our Municipal, Land Development & Expropriation Group, he regularly represents developers, businesses, homeowners and municipalities navigating land use regulations and a full range of development approvals.

Phil enjoys collaborating with his clients’ land use planners, architects, engineers and other professionals to develop innovative solutions.  Working on all manner of Planning Act applications & reviews, development agreements, conservation authority matters, development charge issues, heritage properties & districts, and expropriations, he offers strategic insight that considers each client’s unique circumstances and objectives.

Much of his practice includes appeals before the Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly the Ontario Municipal Board & the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal).  He also represents his clients before municipal Councils and Committees (including the Committee of Adjustment, Planning Committee, and Built Heritage Committee), as well as the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Divisional Court.

Outside of the office, hiking, canoeing and camping are among Phil’s favourite hobbies to share with his beautiful and talented wife (who absolutely did not write this bio) and his delightful daughter.
